デイビス　莉莉 （リリー） （2025~）

国際交流員、英語でCoordinator for International Relations（CIR）は、ALT（Assistant Language Teacher、外国語指導助手）と同様に、外国青年招致事業（JETプログラム）の職種の一つです。JETプログラムは地方自治体が外務省・総務省・文部科学省の協力下に実施し、毎年の参加者は約4,500人です。

国際交流員の仕事は配属先の自治体で、国際交流活動やイベントの企画、学校訪問などを通じて国際交流の促進とともに国際意識を高めることです。2025年7月30日に来市したデイビス・莉莉は京田辺市の8代目のCIRです。

Hello!

My name is Lilly Davis, and I am the City of Kyotanabe`s Coordinator for International Relations （CIR）. My duty is to help foreign residents, engage with the citizens of Kyotanabe to promote cultural understanding and interest, and to forge international relations between the city of Kyotanabe and other countries. I am from a small town in the greater Seattle area of Washington State, USA. I attended the University of Washington with a double major in Japanese and Asian Languages and Cultures, where I also studied Chinese and composed a thesis on Japanese popular culture.

My first time in Japan was in 2024, where I stayed for three weeks and traveled to Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Nara, Hiroshima, and Miyajima Island. When I visited Kyoto, I immediately knew that this was the place I wanted to be. I enjoy trying new things, exploring unfamiliar areas, and learning the history of different places. I am looking forward to getting to know the citizens of Kyotanabe and navigating life here in Kansai!

はじめまして！2025年に京田辺市の国際交流員に着任したデイビス莉莉（りりー）と申します！国際交流、異文化理解、多文化共生を推進し、外国人の市民のサポートをするために参りました。出身はアメリカのワシントン州のシアトル市の近くにある街です。ワシントン大学に通って、日本語とアジア言語と文化を専攻しました。大学で中国語も勉強して、日本のポップカルチャーに関する卒論を書きました。

はじめて日本に来たのは2024年でした。3週間日本に旅行して，東京、大阪、京都、奈良、広島、宮島に行きました。京都に訪れた時、早速私が住みたいところだということを実感しました。いろいろ経験したり、新しいところを探ったり、その土地の歴史を学んだりするのが好きです。市民と触れ合い、関西で新しい生活を送ることを楽しみにしています！
