日本の四季が楽しみ
京田辺市のみなさん、はじめまして。前任のアリスンに代わり、8月より京田辺市国際交流員（CIR）を勤めさせていただくことになりました「ランド イヴォンヌ」です。どうぞ、「イーヴィー」と呼んでください。
4年前に旅行で日本に来たとき、私は日本の美しさと人々の優しさに感銘を受けました。その後、イギリスのシェフィールド大学で日本文化を専攻し日本語を勉強し、また早稲田大学にも1年間留学しました。だから日本での生活にも少し慣れています。しかし、東京での生活しか知らない私にとって京田辺市の山々や自然の美しさは驚きでした。一目で素敵なまちだと思いました。
また、今回の来日で私が驚いたのは、暑さと虫の大きさです。残念なことに、最近のイギリスは天気が悪いです。涼しいのは良いのですが、季節が春、秋、冬しかないとまでいわれています。また、イギリスの方が、虫が小さくて少ないように思います。
せっかく夏を体験できるので、イギリス人としては日本特有の暑さに耐えて頑張ろうと思います。これから京田辺市のみなさんといろいろな楽しいふれ合いを重ねて、京田辺市のことをたくさん知っていこうと思います。そしてさまざまな事業を通して、みなさんに出会えることを楽しみにしています。どうぞ、よろしくお願いします。Looking forward to Japan's four seasons
Hello everyone in Kyotanabe. My name is Yvonne Lund and from August I will be the next CIR of Kyotanabe City, taking over from Alison. Please call me Evie.
When I first came to Japan for a vacation 4 years ago, I found it to be a beautiful country with many kind people. That’s why I studied Japanese Language and Culture at Sheffield University in the UK. I also studied for one year at Waseda University, so am somewhat acclimatized to life in Japan. However, I’ve only ever experienced living in Tokyo, so I was surprised by the beauty of the nature and mountains of Kyotanabe. My first impression was ‘what a wonderful place!’
When I came to Japan this time around I was also surprised by the heat and the sheer size of the insects here. It’s unfortunate but in the UK these days the weather is so bad and it’s so cold that you could say we only have Spring, Autumn and Winter. Also, in the UK there are fewer insects and they are much smaller. Since I finally get to experience a real summer, I’m going to try hard as a British person to endure the Japanese heat.
I hope to learn lots about Kyotanabe from you. I’m looking forward to meeting you all at lots of different events. See you soon!
