国宝に指定されている十一面観音立像、秋の紅葉が美しい一休寺、巫女が熱湯を参拝者にふりかけ無病息災を祈願する山本の百味と湯立、おはやしに合わせ舞う朔日講の神楽など、歴史文化が多く残る京田辺市。たくさんの市民が竹を担ぐ二月堂竹送りや中学生が舞う大住隼人舞、瑞饋神輿巡行など歴史文化は地域の人々に大切に受け継がれています。　２年に一度、10月に棚倉孫神社の秋祭に繰り出される瑞饋神輿。約30種類の野菜や穀物などで飾られた見事な神輿が、五穀豊穣に感謝して市内を巡行します。市指定無形民俗文化財。瑞饋神輿巡行たなくらひこProcession of the Zuiki Portable ShrineEleven-faced Kannon Standing Image at Omido Kannon-ji TempleThe Eleven-faced Kannon Statue is designated a national heritage, Ikkyu-ji Temple is where visitors can view beautiful autumn leaves, Yamamoto-no-Hyakumi and Yudate is where shrine maidens sprinkle hot water onto visitors and pray for sound health, and Kagura at Tsuitachiko is a performance of sacred dance along with traditional Japanese festival music. Many cultural and historical events remain in Kyotanabe City; these are strongly rooted in the community and handed down to the younger generation with care as can be seen in the Nigatsu-do take-okuri in which many citizens carry bamboo, Oosumihayato dancing by the local junior high students, and the procession of the Zuiki Portable Shrine.History and cultures are inheritedand carefully preserved大御堂観音寺ずいきみこし　天武天皇の勅願により義淵僧正が創建したとされる大御堂観音寺に安置された仏像で、国宝に指定されています。木心乾漆造という技法で製作されており、奈良時代の名作として天平文化の栄華を今に伝えています。大御堂観音寺十一面観音立像もくしんかんしつづくりぎえんそうじょうおおみどう23
